Someone once asked me if I like working with car dealers (I do). But what I like most, is someone who cares about what they do. No. LOVES what they do. And it seems car dealers, despite the tough time many are having, wouldn't have it any other way. Some are tough, some mean, but most are pretty damned smart. The best ones are SUPER passionate. Maniacally devoted to their cause. And that's really, really cool. It's a shame more don't have that kind of passion.
But that's not to say that only car dealers have that passion. I have the distinct pleasure of working with a Plastic Injection Molder and Juice Manufacturer that also have that single-minded devotion. They live and breathe their business. They're the fun ones to work with. Anyone that can get themselves all worked up about some minute detail of their business is fascinating and exciting to me.
The thing that blows my hair back is digital marketing. And I really don't care what kind. I happen to love marketing for Car Dealers. But really it could be anything. Automotive or non-automotive digital marketing. Retail marketing. Viral marketing. And digital marketing that "pays"--as Lester Wunderman once said, is the real thrill. Helping someone sell something because of something I did, is the absolute best. All other types of marketing (that don't sell)...seem to me a distraction. Kinda like a hobby but not as cool. Because with a hobby, you do it for the enjoyment--and no one is the worse off. But when Marketing doesn't pay, it's a hobby, where the client pays...and gets nothing in return.
So this first post is to establish a direction. A dedication. A dedication to learning all I can about digital marketing that "pays"--for car dealers, dealer groups, retail clients, juice clients, plastic injection molding clietns and more. To learn about and share digital marketing campaigns that pay-off for clients.
Here's a blog I found that seems pretty interesting for Car Dealers. Who knew that Craigs List could be so good for generating leads? Dealer Automotive Blog
